Pesticides in mussels (bivalves)

Organochlorine pesticides are the most commonly detected pesticides in bivalves (mussels). However, a large number of further pesticides are detected in several studies all over the world.

P2717-RT covers organochlorine pesticides as well as further pesticides, which are included in pesticide multi-residue methods. The scope of pesticides is available here. A selection of up to 15 pesticides of the scope is spiked to the material.

A homogenate of mussels, spiked and unspiked, is provided as test material and blank material. The blank material might contain incurred residues of pesticides. 

The analytical data are assessed with respect to

• the correct identification of the pesticides,
• the comparability (z-score), and
• the trueness (70 to 120% of the spiked level, as far as applicable).
