P2727-RT

Polar pesticides in dried cocoa beans

P2727-RT focuses on the most relevant polar pesticides as well as on pesticides typically applied to cocoa.

Dry fermented cocoa beans are a highly challenging matrix.

The polar pesticides glyphosate, AMPA, trimesium, glufosinate, MPPA, diquat, and paraquat are offered as basic module. The basic module also includes the quantification of 2,4-D, a herbicides, which is repeatedly found in cocoa beans due to the use on roadsides and courtyards close to the drying areas of the cocoa beans. The labs are asked to quantify 2,4-D according to the residue definition (with hydrolysis!).

Pesticides, which are typcially used on cocoa and quantified by pesticide multi-residue methods are offered as an additional module. The scope of MRM pesticides is availabe here. Selected pesticides of the provided scope are spiked.

The analytical data are assessed with respect to

  • the correct identification of the multi-method pesticides,
  • the comparability (z-score), and
  • the trueness (70 to 120% of the spiked level, as far as applicable).
