Analysis of MOSH and MOAH by LC-GC-FID is a routine technique nowadays, while the analysis by GCxGC-FID is more advanced and is applied for quantification of MOAH separately for the different ring systems.
P2704-MRT offers laboratories the choice to quantify the material
- by LC-GC-FID for total MOSH and total MOAH, and/or
- by GCxGC-FID for MDAF (mono- and diaromatic fraction) and TPAF (tri- and polyaromatic fraction), and total MOAH according to their needs.
A full validation of both analytical methods cross the techniques is possible if both modules are chosen.
Attention: Please make sure that you choose the correct technique for your lab and your instrumentation!
A spiked sample of milled spelt (flour) and the corresponding unspiked milled spelt are provided as test material and blank material.
An LOQ of total MOAH of 0.5 mg/kg is required in accordance with the expected maximum levels.
Spiked levels are within the typical ranges of contaminations of the respective matrix. The results related to the spiked materials are evaluated with respect to the comparability criterion (z-score) as well as with respect to the trueness criterion (70 to 120 % of the spiked level, as far as scientifically reasonable).
P2704-MRT is offered as a method ring test, which means,
- the evaluation is not limited to the pure statistical evaluation.
- the participants are asked to provide the chromatograms and plots related to the test materials.
- the participants are asked to answer a questionnaire related to relevant aspects of the sample preparation and analysis.
The chromatograms as well as the answers related to the questionnaire are summarised in separate parts of the final report. For reasons of fairness, only those participants, which provide details and chromatograms will receive these parts of the report. The data will help to identify shortcomings, built the basis for further discussion and thus help to enhance the quality of the applied method.
Total MOSH (≥ C10 to ≤ C50), Total MOAH (≥ C10 to ≤ C50)
